ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- New Mexico high school athletes committed to playing at the next level Wednesday.

Los Lunas' Tyler Kiene signed with UCLA. The All-State lineman said he is excited to join the Bruins.

"What this means to me is that everything that I did, all of the work that I put in, was worth it," Kiene said. "I didn't do anything in vain. It means the dreams can come true. It means that no matter where you're from or who you are that if you want it and if you're willing to work for it, you can accomplish anything."

Cleveland's Tre Watson signed with Fresno State.

Watson helped the storm win a state title in 2019.

The All-State athlete said he wants to make an impact with the Bulldogs right away.

Other athletes who committed to Division 1 schools include:

  • Sam Carrell (Washington State)
  • Chance Harris (Colorado State)
  • Trey Ortega (San Diego)
  • Grant Oberrhue (New Mexico State)
