ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- No running back gets anywhere without a great offensive line.

Sandia's Leshawn Joseph has had seven touchdowns in the first week of the season.

The Matador offensive line gave Joseph some big holes to run through.

"They've been working hard every week. They got sprints after practice for extra conditioning, so we've just trying to put in that work," Joseph said.

Joseph scored three times Thursday night, helping Sandia beat Atrisco Heritage. It was the team's first win under new head coach Chad Adcox.

"The guys were excited. We're all happy about the first game but we're looking to get this win this week so we're staying focused this weekend, executing and doing our game plan," Joseph said.

The Sandia Matadors take on Los Lunas Friday at Wilson Stadium.
