ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —This week a New Mexico native returned to his roots.

Rio Rancho grad Chris Williams helped out his alma mater at the Ram youth football camp.

Williams played college ball at New Mexico State and has spent the last decade playing in the NFL and the Canadian Football League.

Last year he was playing with the Hamilton Wildcats before tearing his Achilles.

Williams is nearly back to 100%, and he says in a few weeks he will be ready to sign with a team and get back on the field.

"It's been amazing. I've been on almost too many teams to count. I've been everywhere from east coast to west coast and it's been amazing," Williams said. "I've seen a lot of beautiful places, a lot of people and places have opened their arms to me and my family and it's just been an awesome experience."
