ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Over 140 youngsters made their way to the Rio Rancho football camp that kicked off this morning.

There were plenty of fun drills throughout the day.

Former Rio Rancho Ram and New Mexico State Aggie Chris Williams helped out this year. The NFL and CFL journeyman was excited to be back at his alma mater – he loves to give back at the place that helped him get to the next level.

"I could only dream about having this type of stuff when I was a youngster," Williams said. "We had it, but you have somebody from the school that's been able to make it in this field and make it in a professional level, you know, it's just awesome."

David Howes, head football coach for the Rams, agreed.

"The interaction – that's the special part," Howes said. "You can slow things down and really focus on the basics and spend time with them as people and watch their development and watch them grow."
