The team is the 2-time defending state champions.

The Coyotes were among the schools that started summer workouts in mid-June when the NMAA and state government gave clearance for small group activity

"It's been a very different summer workout program-- with so many rules and regulations," said Coach Jeff Lynn.

After two weeks of training, they decided to take a break as the area saw a rise in COVID-19 cases.

"It's hard to do any scheme or football work right now with all the restrictions so our focus is just get back in shape," Lynn said.

Lynn said the Coyotes plan to resume summer workouts on Monday.
