ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- The Sandia High School baseball team wrapped up non-district play with a perfect 8-0 record.

The Matadors have one of the best pitching staffs in New Mexico, led by Jacob Kmatz, who has committed to Oregon State.

Sandia is one of four teams in 5A with an unbeaten record.

They open district play with Farmington on May 22.

"Getting them to buy and be a little more humble, put the ego away and just play as a team and that’s what’s been so fun is they’ve really done that," said head coach Chris Eaton.
