State high school tennis tournament wraps up at Albuquerque Academy

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The state high school tennis tournament wrapped up at Albuquerque Academy Saturday.

Eldorado’s Georgio Samaha capped off a legendary high school career defeating La Cueva’s Tanin Ramnath 6-0, 6-3. Samaha takes home his third state title. He’s committed to play tennis next season at UNM.

La Cueva’s Cameron King and Stephane Romero battled it out for the 5A girls singles title. King outlasted her teammate 6-2, 6-2.

Isabel Voinescu of Santa Fe Prep defeated Los Alamos’ Kate McDonald in the girls class A-4A singles final 6-1, 7-6 (7-5)

Joseph Braun of Albuquerque Academy beat #1 seed Owen Dooley (Los Alamos) in the Boys Class A-4A singles championship 7-6 (7-5), 3-6, 6-0

Rigales/Garcia (St. Michael’s) defeats Cordova / Jaramillo (Belen) 6-2, 7-5

Dils/Dils (Albuquerque Academy) defeats McDermott / Bloodworth (St. Michael’s) 6-4, 7-5
