Student’s study of stats gives La Cueva Baseball an edge

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.-La Cueva baseball’s Ryan Roche is helping the Bears get ready for the state playoffs.
Roche is a big lover of stats. It started with his father’s love of numbers.
“Everything that I do has been pretty statistical based it’s in seeing how I can improve in my game. I find so many stories within the actual stats themselves so I can keep pushing forward with that that’s why I like it. It’s very interesting to me," said Roche.
He plans to major in data science when he heads to college next fall.
La Cueva takes on Cleveland in the state quarterfinals on Tuesday.
