The Hawks are coming off a 35-7 win over Cleveland High.

The defense continues to be a big strength.

Friday’s win will keep the Hawks in a tie for first in 1-6A.

"They are the most important. People can say what they want about the schedule early. It's all to get us ready and prepped for this district,” said Volcano Vista head coach Chad Wallin.

“A lot of it was discipline, you know, not going up field, doing our assignment and getting it done,” said player Christian Avalos.

“Not beating them in Volcano’s whole past I think it was a big game for us and knowing what we can do and knowing what our capabilities are,” said player Cody Moon.

The Hawls will get another first place battle with Rio Rancho Saturday.
