ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - There's a pretty special nine-year-old girl in Rio Rancho.

Satori Arellano has stuck to her New Year's resolution to clean up the city.

“When you think, you tell a kid what’s your New Year’s resolution, they think maybe stop playing video games, or maybe not eat so much candy, and she came up with cleaning up all the trash around the world. And, I mean, who does that,” said Satori's mother, Sonia.

Satori has organized five different trash collections, spreading the word on her Facebook page, “Cleaning Up the World.”

People in the community are taking notice.

“Hopefully other children see the story and it motivates them to do something whatever it is because nothing is too small,” said Ron Cdebaca, who nominated Satori for Pay it 4ward.

Once getting the $400, Satori wasted no time making plans for the cash.

"I think I’m gonna donate it to get more supplies for picking up trash,” Satori said.
