Pay it 4ward: Ice cream shop honored for putting kids first

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.— I Scream Ice Cream, at Carlisle and Indian School, is not the typical ice cream shop.

"Bill is like Mother Teresa selling ice cream," said customer Bill Brown, who was referring to the owner Bill Warren.

Warren spends his free time giving certificates for free ice cream to cancer patients in the hospital, throwing birthdays for children in foster care and showing free movies in the parking lot during the summer.

“He probably does more things that I don't even know if I'm aware of but these are some of the things and that's why I think he's a saint,” said customer Marilyn Lafer. “I'm very passionate about what he does and he does it from the heart."

Lafer nominated Warren for Pay it 4ward.
