Ben Ray Lujan seeks leadership role after Dems take over U.S. House

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- After winning re-election Tuesday night, Congressman Ben Ray Luján announced he is running for a leadership position.

In a letter to his Democratic colleagues, Lujan congratulated Democrats for their victories and taking control of the House of Representatives and asked for their support to make him Assistant Democratic Leader.

If Lujan is selected, he would take the party’s No. 4 leadership slot.

Two other Democrats are running for the Assistant Democratic Leader position.
