Democratic candidate in key Congressional race not wanting for cash

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – In the race to represent southern New Mexico in Congress, records show that Democrat Xochitl Torres Small boasts almost five times as much cash on hand as her Republican opponent.

According to the Federal Election Commission, Torres Small reports having $495,000 in cash. Republican Yvette Herrel reports having $100,000 by comparison. 

District 2 has leaned Republican in recent years, but Democrats consider it a key race to gain a seat in the House.
