NM Republicans name former BP agent as candidate for retiring legislator's seat

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – New Mexico Republicans have a replacement in their race for House District 27 after longtime Albuquerque Rep. Larry Larrañega (R) announced last week he would not seek re-election.

Former Border Patrol agent Robert Godshall is the new candidate, and will face Democratic opponent William Pratt in November's general election.

Larrañega has served in the New Mexico House of Representatives since 1995.
