Aggies nab date with Clemson after winning WAC Tourney

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The city of Las Cruces is celebrating after the New Mexico State men's basketball team once again won the WAC Tournament and punched its ticket to the Big Dance Saturday night with a 72-58 win over Grand Canyon.

"I'm so happy for coach and the fans and the team," NMSU guard Zach Lofton said. "I'm glad they get to feel this. That's my part. They can talk we had expectations for and that, but I'm so happy. That's all I got. I can't talk too; I can't cry up here."

On Sunday it was announced the Aggies will be the 12th seed in the Midwest Region of the NCAA Tournament. NMSU will face 5th-seeded Clemson Friday in San Diego.
