ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- World Series champion Alex Bregman came home for the holiday, and he threw out the first pitch at the new Albuquerque Regional Sports Complex on Wednesday.

There are five new baseball and softball fields next to community stadium on the west side of Albuquerque.

Bregman and the Houston Astros won the World Series in seven games. It's been a whirlwind celebratory tour for Bregman, but he's happy to be back in the Land of Enchantment with family and friends.

“It's fun to be back home in Albuquerque. I love this place,” Bregman said. “It's home for me and I'm proud to be from here. And it's special to be able to come back here and check out these brand new fields that hopefully the next World Series champion from Albuquerque is going to be playing on one day.”
