WASHINGTON, D.C. - Albuquerque Academy graduate and Astros third baseman Alex Bregman put on a show at the MLB All-Star Home Run Derby. Bregman slugged 15 homers in the first round but fell short to Kyle Schwarbers 16 home runs.
It was the Albuquerque native’s first time participating in a home run derby at the MLB level.
Nationals’ outfielder Bryce Harper went on to win the derby in front of his home crowd.
Bregman will appear in his first MLB All-Star game Tuesday night at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C.
