ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The NFL draft is coming up this week, and it's been a busy last few months for Jalin Burrell.

The former Lobo defensive back is doing all he can to impress NFL scouts. Since the season ended, Burrell has been nonstop.

He's played in the NFL Players Association Collegiate showcase, worked out at regional combines around the country and made it back to Albuquerque for Pro Day in March.

Every opportunity counts when an athlete is trying to have their name called on draft day.

"Just tto get a chance to speak to them, I'll get a chance to show them who I am," Burrell said. "A chance to show them what I'm about, what New Mexico builds for players and trying to go to the next level here."

Burrell said he often gets asked about how Albuquerque is as a city.

"It's beautiful out here, the people are beautiful out here, and I think it's just made me who I am today," he said.
