ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – On Saturday the Duke City Gladiators brought home Albuquerque's first pro title in over a decade.

On Sunday they celebrated in uniquely New Mexican style.

The entire team and organization celebrated their first ever Champions Indoor Football title by taking the tram up the Sandia Mountains. It was the fulfilling of a season-long promise—the organization said it would not take a team picture all season unless they won the Champions Bowl.

They reached that goal Saturday, and thus reached Sandia Peak on Sunday—as CIF champions.

"It's kinda like this championship is bigger than us, you know? It’s really for the city," Gladiators running back Juwan Lewis said. "I feel like we unified the City of Albuquerque."
