ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Lobos quarterback Tevaka Tuioti is sidelined with a concussion.

That means Sheriron Jones is the next man up.

He played most of the game against Wisconsin after Tuioti went out early in the first quarter.

Just a few weeks ago, Jones was third on the depth chart. But now he will be starting against New Mexico State.

"Coach Wright is doing a great job with me, making sure that I am ready for that role if I have to get in there, you know. It was a steppingstone. I got a chance to grow up a little bit, have fun with some of the guys, some of the guys back me up and we're ready to go."

Kickoff for the UNM-NMSU game is set for 6 p.m. in Las Cruces.
