Lobos Head Basketball Coach Paul Weir is enjoying a busy summer.

This time last year, he was just getting things organized. Now, he has his summer program rolling. He has his team in place and he’s letting veteran players like Anthony Mathis and Dane Kuiper lead the way.

"We have a long way to go, me included. We got some rough patches playing, but it will all sort itself out. We're doing some really hard training right now," Kuiper said.

Weir is excited with what he’s seeing on the court.

"[I’m] happy with where we’re at. Our workload is terrific, to have everybody here right now, minus those two is huge compared to where we where we were at 12 months ago.”

The Lobos have eight new players on the team. That’s in addition to Vance Jackson and Jaquan Lyle, who sat out last year after transferring to the program.
