ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The New Mexico women's basketball team is in San Diego preparing for their game against the Aztecs.

The teams will square off Wednesday at noon. The Lobos are 18-2 overall and 8-1 in the Mountain West Conference.

"They are really talented, they play with a lot of pace," coach Mike Bradbury said about the Aztecs. "We struggle with them a lot because of their quickness and they do have enough size to cause us some trouble inside."

The Lobos won big on Saturday against the Fresno State Bulldogs 82-73.

"You want to hang around the top, then you have to win no matter where you are playing," Bradbury said.

After winning six games in a row, the Lobos are on top in the conference alongside Boise State. The two teams will play against each other on March 4 in Boise.

Fresno State sits third in the conference, and Wyoming is fourth. UNLV and Utah State are in a battle for the fifth spot.
