Weini Kelati won the women's one-mile race, with a time of 4:37. She broke the conference record by five seconds.

Later in the day, football and track star Jay Griffin competed in the men's 200m, setting a new school record of 21.01 seconds.

Griffin picks up his first career Mountain West individual title.

"It's very meaningful, it's a blessing coming from last year - I wasn't able to be on the podium, to this year, winning first place, it feels really good," Griffin said. "I'm glad all of my football and track teammates get to come out and support me, it just feels good to win in front of them."
