ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Lobos under head coach Paul Weir are going to throw 94 feet of defense at opponents.
So when he says that their defense is progressing faster than the team's offense, it's not a problem.
This year's team is long and athletic, and have all the components of a lockdown defensive basketball team. With almost a month to go before the season opener, Weir said he likes where his team is at.
"That just might be our increase in size, our increase in length, our increase in maybe some of the guys we have here, but defensively it's a lot more comforting watching practice or working with them right now than it was a year ago," he said. "But on the flip side, offensively, we still have a lot of work to do with regards to our spacing, our feel and just kind of executing our concepts."
