Manzano High School debuts new gym

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - For the first time in 58 years, Manzano High School has a new gym and the Monarch Youth Basketball Camp was the first to use the new facility.

“It's amazing. It's beautiful these kids are really lucky to be in the gym making the first shots in having a first experience," said Manzano Head Basketball Coach Dominick Romero.

The Monarch Palace marks a new chapter not just for basketball, but every activity and sport the school has to offer.

“Our student body is really going to enjoy it. With assemblies, concerts, graduations, and all kinds of different things. All of our other sports have locker rooms. The whole school is just going to really benefit,” Romero said.
