ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- Fans heading to Isotopes Park will see something different this year. A new rule in Minor League Baseball will place a runner at second base at the start of each extra-inning frame.

How does Isotopes general manager John Traub feel about the new rule?

"This amount of people that are left in the stands at that point, it's not what it is in the peak of the game," he said. "I really think that the extra-innings rule is geared to saving pitchers and having enough pitching in days to follow."
