New Mexicans selected in MLB Draft

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- Several New Mexico athletes were selected in the MLB Draft.


La Cueva graduate and Lubbock Christian catcher Andrew Pratt was drafted by the Nationals late in the tenth round on Tuesday.

UNM pitcher, Malachi Emond, was selected by the Orioles in the 18th round.

Los Alamos native and Lobo outfielder. Jared Mang was also selected in the 18th round. He was picked up by the Detroit Tigers

New Mexico Junior College shortstop Joab Gonzalez was drafted in the 24th round by the Indians.

New Mexico State's Andrew Edwards was selected by the Mets in the 31st round.
