ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Lobo football team's defense is looking to cause more havoc Saturday at New Mexico State in the annual I-25 Rivalry.
One player that's proven to be a playmaker so far on the young season is linebacker Evahelotu Tohi, who recovered a fumble in the season opener and tallied an interception against Wisconsin last weekend.
So far, the Lobos have four takeaways on the season through two games. Tohi said he wants New Mexico to build on the things they did well against the ranked Badgers.
"I'd say it was a good look, you know, playing a Big 10 school and being able to compete with them up until halfway through the third quarter," Tohi said. "You just got to make plays. Just being consistent, going in there and working hard and being able to make plays in big-time moments."
The Lobos take on the NMSU Aggies Saturday evening, with kickoff scheduled for 6 p.m.
