ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- The New Mexico State football program has plenty to celebrate this week.

Quarterback Tyler Rogers and linebacker Terrill Hanks were named Sun Belt players of the week after their win over South Alabama. Rogers threw for more than 450 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while Hanks recorded eight tackles and two sacks.

The Aggies are likely still on cloud nine after that win and their bowl invitation to play Utah State on Dec. 29. New Mexico State is anticipating a big turnout by Aggie Nation.

"With all the alums in New Mexico, with all the alumni in Arizona and a drivable distance to Tucson, I am expecting to sellout our allotment and have that stadium in crimson and white," NMSU coach Doug Martin said.

Meanwhile, Christmas will come early for the two football teams bound for Albuquerque. It was announced on Sunday that Colorado State will play Marshall in the Gildan New Mexico Bowl on Dec. 16.

Organizers are hoping for a sweet matchup.

"I see a really competitive game," said Jeff Simebieda, executive director for the New Mexico Bowl. "I see a team that's very explosive offensively against a team that is the second-best defensive team in Conference USA, the best rushing defense in Conference USA, two physical football teams that started off the season really well."
