NMSU relishes 'team win' after defeating UTEP in El Paso

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – New Mexico State tallied its first win of 2018 Saturday night, beating the University of Texas at El Paso on their home turf for the first time in a decade.

The win snapped the Aggies' four-game losing streak to start the year, and provided them with some much-needed momentum heading into the bye week.

"It was a good win for us to come out here to El Paso and get a win, a great team win," NMSU quarterback Josh Adkins said. "The defense stepped up when we needed to, wasn't the prettiest on offense, but we got it done when we needed to."

The Aggies next take on Liberty in Las Cruces on Oct. 6.
