LAS VEGAS, NV- The New Mexico State Aggies advanced to the finals of the WAC Tournament in Las Vegas.

The Aggies got off to a quick start against UTRGV, building an eight-point lead by halftime.

UTRGV would get close in the second half, but the Aggies held on to win, 79-72.

“We were all disappointed we let them back in the game,” said Aggies coach Chris Jans. “But I thought they handled it well and showed some resolve. It was a good sign for us moving forward."

The Aggies will play the winner of the Utah Valley-Grand Canyon game Saturday.
