The pair took the top two spots in the U.S. Amateur Qualifier at the UNM Championship Course.

Yellin is a red-shirt freshmen at UTEP.

McCarthy graduated from St. Pius and is now playing for Missouri Western State.

Now he's headed to Pebble Beach to face best amateur golfers in the country.

"It's amazing you know. I played really solid today. I only had one bogey today. I putted, I made some really key putts down the stretch. It means a lot. I'm really looking forward to the opportunity," McCarthy said.

The U.S. Amateur Open begins August 13.
