ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The UNM football team is hoping to improve on last year’s disappointing season.

On defense, they ranked in the bottom half of the Mountain West Conference in almost every key defensive statistic.

This offseason, the team has gone back to the drawing board.

Senior D'Angelo Ross says there are several areas where the team will be working to improve.

"Biggest thing probably is we want to create more turnovers. That's probably the biggest thing and then just in another little thing changing up coverage a little bit to put ourselves in different situations," Ross said.

Fall practice kicks off the first week of August.
