UNM freshman named Mountain West Player of the Week

UNM freshman named Mountain West Player of the Week

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- For the second straight week, a UNM women's basketball player was named Mountain West Player of the week.

This week, freshman Ahlise Hurst received the honor.

Hurst had a standout game against Oklahoma. Her 39 points surpassed Utah's Kim Smith for the most points by a freshman in league and school history.

Hurst also scored 11 points in the game against in-state rivals NMSU.

Hurst is the third Lobo to get Player of the Week honors this season. Her teammate Jaisa Nunn was named Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 19. Aisia Robertson earned the honor for the week of Nov. 26.
