ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – They came close – real close – but the Lobos couldn't beat the Colorado State Rams for the first time since 2009 on Saturday afternoon.

In a game that came down to the final seconds, New Mexico grabbed its first lead of the game in the fourth quarter when quarterback Sheriron Jones targeted Delane Hart-Johnson for a touchdown throw.

The Lobos held onto a slim lead until the final three seconds, but the Rams were able to get into field goal range, allowing Wyatt Bryan to hit the game-winner through the uprights.

New Mexico lost the game 20-18, dropping to 3-3 on the season. They next take on Fresno State at home next weekend.
