ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- The New Mexico women's basketball team is looking to make a run in the Women's NIT. The Lobos' next game is Tuesday night against Rice at Dreamstyle Arena.

For players like Cherise Beynon, it's an opportunity to keep play basketball and continue to represent the University of New Mexico.

"It means a lot to keep playing for the Lobos," she said. "So to keep my jersey on as long as possible, I want to leave this place knowing I did something good making an impact."

For head coach Mike Bradbury it's an opportunity to make a deep run in what he considers a tournament with great competition.

"There is only one-third of the teams that get to play in any postseason," he said. "And now by the time we tip it off tomorrow night, there will be 33 teams left playing basketball."

Doors open tonight at 6 p.m. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. The winner gets the TCU Horned Frogs, who beat Lamar and Missouri State.

If the Lobos advance, there is a good chance that game will be in The Pit.

Tickets for tonight's game can be purchased here.  UNM says parking around the arena is free.
