Lobos go 1-3 at College Baseball Classic

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- The New Mexico Lobos baseball team lost its final game at the College Baseball Classic in Surprise, Arizona on Monday, falling to No. 2 Oregon State 15-3.

UNM scored single runs in the second, fourth and eighth innings. Oregon State, meanwhile, picked up five runs in the third and did not trail from there on.

The Beavers' 15 runs came on 18 hits. UNM totaled eight hits, led by Derek Marshall's 2-for-3 effort.

Cody Dye took the pitching loss for the Lobos, which fell to 1-3 on the year.

The Lobos' lone win in Arizona came against Cal Poly, a 3-1 victory on Saturday. They lost to the Beavers 5-2 on Friday and to Gonzaga 4-3 on Sunday.

UNM opens its home slate with a four-game series against Central Michigan. Game 1 is Thursday at 6 p.m.
