UNM women hold off SDSU, 70-62

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- The UNM women’s basketball team held off San Diego State Wednesday night.


The Lobos started strong, building a 13-point lead in the first quarter.

By halftime, the Lobos were up by 16.

But the Aztecs staged a comeback in the second half, outscoring the Lobos by five in the third quarter.

Despite giving up 18 points in the fourth quarter, the Lobos held on down the stretch. Ahlise Hurst hit a three-pointer with 1:34 left in the game to seal the deal.

With the 70-62 win, the Lobos improved to 4-1 in the Mountain West Conference and 14-2 overall.
