ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.— UNM head basketball coach Paul Weir is back in Albuquerque after a trip to Las Vegas for the Mountain West Summit.

The Lobos were picked to finish third the media’s preseason poll.

Weir said this year’s team is different from last year’s group.

"The profile of our team has changed a little bit. We're bigger or stronger, we’re a little more athletic, we’re a little deeper. Last year's team was a little smaller, a little more skilled."

The Lobos begin their season Nov. 6 against Cal State Northridge.
