ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – In a little over a month, the Lobo men’s basketball team will take the floor for real.

Nine new players, as well as the returning components from last year’s squad, are trying to get up to speed with the way first-year head coach Paul Weir wants to play the game. Weir is still deciding whether he wants to name team leaders or if he’d rather wait and see which players naturally take up that role on the hardwood.

Sam Logwood is the only returning starter from last year’s club.

“There are going to be captains that have to go see officials before the game begins, and I’m still going over if we are going to have anointed, voted (players), none (of the above),,, that is to be determined," Weir said. "To be determined."
