ROSWELL, N.M.- Roswell is now home to a prestigious aerospace training center.

AEVEX welcomed community members to an open house at their new headquarters Tuesday.

The company does everything under the aerospace umbrella, like data collection software for airborne operations to building drones.

"We want to very clearly delineate to our customers what it is that we’re offering to them and what we’re focused on for AEVEX for this location is testing of new systems, training of people flying and or operating new systems," said Brian Raduenz, CEO of AEVEX.

AEVEX has a global reach, working on five continents and 800 current deployments, meaning AEVEX can connect Roswell globally through its technology and aviation.

AEVEX specializes in intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR), but also works commercially.

“We want to bring some very serious capabilities here to the area if possible, and we are going to work very hard to do that," Raduenz said.

With AEVEX expanding in Roswell, not only will it bring direct jobs at the range, but also indirectly help the local economy.

Mike Espiritu, the Roswell-Chaves County EDC President said they’re very excited about this business addition.

“It’ll create more jobs in the other sectors like our service and hospitality sector our hotels will be for you know our restaurants will be doing well and all the things that we’ve suffered with across the country this past year with COVID this is going to excuse the pun but a shot in the arm for us," he said.
