ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- Former UNM women’s basketball player Aisia Robertson is heading overseas.

Her path to the pros has not been easy.

She tore her ACL in 2019, but bounced back in her senior season to lead the Lobos in assists.

During the pandemic, Robertson had to be patient. Her patience would eventually pay off. She signed a contract to play basketball in Paris, France.

"It was just like surreal for me, so it took me a couple of days to actually, like, accept I got an offer in Paris, in the place that I actually want to play," Robertson said.

Robertson said the pandemic allowed her to focus on herself.

"I’ve been getting more in tune with my mental state of being– just because the world is in a crazy place right now," she said.

After her basketball career is over, Robertson has more big plans.

"I think I want to go more into the player development side," she said.

Prior to leaving for Paris in August, Robertson is spending time with family in California.
