Amber Alert issued for 5-year-old boy abducted from home in Pecos

UPDATE: The Amber Alert below has been canceled. State police say 5-year-old Juan Antonio Gallegos has been found safe.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — An Amber Alert has been issued for a 5-year-old boy abducted from his home in Pecos, New Mexico.

State police is asking for the public’s help to find Juan Antonio Gallegos, who was reportedly abducted from his home at the Casa De Herrera Trailer Park at around 4 a.m. Monday.

Juan was last seen wearing a Mickey Mouse t-shirt with blue jeans. Police said he is missing and is believed to be in danger if not found.

According to a release, he was abducted by his father, Johnny Joe Gallegos, 39, of Pecos. State police said Johnny has no custodial rights to Juan.

Authorities did not have a description of the vehicle Juan was taken in – they said the method of travel and destination is unknown. State police said Johnny was with two unknown men when he kicked in the door and abducted Juan.
