ALBUQUERQUE, N.M – Bryson Carroll wasn’t planning on playing this year. In fact, he retired in the off season and became a student coach.

With the quarterbacks depleted by injuries and redshirts, coach Gonzales asked Carroll to suit up one more time and use his remaining eligibility.

The fifth year senior was happy to help. He was in uniform Saturday at Fresno State.

Carroll is now the backup quarterback behind Isaiah Chavez.

He said he’s enjoying his last chance to play before getting back to coaching.
