ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Cristian Nava made history this weekend signing a professional contract with New Mexico United.

17-year-old Nava is the club’s first academy player to sign with the team.

Nava got some great advice from Cibola graduate and current United player Sergio Rivas.

"He’ll remind me to be the most humble person possible and that it can make me a very good player, so I’m just looking forward to helping other kids that have a dream of becoming a professional soccer player as well," Nava said.

Nava is available for selection in United’s match Monday at Austin Bold FC.
