ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – UNM’s Emily Johnson was named Mountain West defensive player of the week, she had eight saves in the Lobos 2-1 upset win over Washington.

Johnson also had the game winning assist in the final minutes.

Head coach Heather Dyche said she wasn’t surprised by her all world keeper.

"It’s hard sometimes to like the standard that we hold her to is a high one, but I know she wants to be held there too, so huge leadership from her. But just yeah, just a really gritty performance and I think you saw a lot of players really step up,” said Dyche.
