Farmington Animal Shelter offers $5 adoptions

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- The Farmington Animal Shelter is making it easier to adopt.

The shelter is running a special this week. It will be $5 to adopt a pet.

The shelter partnered with the Bissell Pet Foundation in their Empty the Shelter event.

"We have more coming in. For example, today we’ve had more dogs come in. Then, we’ve had to go out so far but the adoption event just started and then it’s also kitten season so we have about 60 cats in foster care that are going to need to come back in the building and get adopted," said Stacie Voss, Animal Welfare director.

The fees will be $5 until May 9.
