Farmington family loses pet in house fire

FARMINGTON, N.M.- A fire destroyed a family’s home in Farmington and killed one of their pets.
“I ran over here as fast as I could but as soon as I got here, it was already too late," Erick said.
Erick and his family lived in the house for nearly seven years. All of their belongings are now gone, as well as their 2-year-old dog.
The family said they tried to save their dog, but they couldn’t get to him.
As investigators look for a cause, the family is now staying at a hotel.
