Free car seat inspection clinic set for Feb. 26 in Rio Rancho

RIO RANCHO, N.M. – The New Mexico Department of Transportation Safety Division and Safer New Mexico Now will be holding an in-person car seat inspection clinic Feb. 26 in Rio Rancho.

The free educational event will be taking place this Saturday from 8 to 10 a.m. at The Learning Experience, at 1510 Unser Blvd. SE.

The event will feature nationally certified safety technicians providing parents and caregivers instruction on how to properly select, install and use their car seats. Technicians will spend around 30 minutes per seat on instruction for parents and caregivers, who will learn important information about common car seat safety errors and get the chance to ask questions.

Parents and caregivers should bring their car seat, car seat manual, vehicle manual and their child should be present if possible. Car seat inspections are first-come, first-served with no appointments available and replacement car seats will be available if needed.
