Jaelyn Bates commits to Lobos

ALBUQUERUE, N.M.- Jaeyln Bates from Volcano Vista high school committed to the Lobos via Twitter.

“There’s a lot of relief once I announced it just like keeping a big secret for everyone, like once you get that Supergirl, it’s like a whole bunch of weight is lifted off your shoulders,” said Bates.

Bates won a state title with Volcano Vista and looks forward to playing for the UNM women’s basketball team.

“It was mostly just a bond that I had with them like throughout since I was a little kid, even before Bradberry, I had such a close bond with Coach Sanchez and her former players. Even now, I have a pretty close bond with Bradberry and his current players right now,” she said.
